About The Artists:


Pt Raghunandan Panshikar commenced training with the doyen of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana, Gaan Saraswati Smt. Kishori Amonkar for last 2 decades. Under her keen guidance, he worked painstakingly to imbibe her complex and unique musical style through rigorous daily riyaaz. During this time, Raghunandan was also fortunate to learn from Kishori-ji's mother & guru, the late Gaan Tapaswini Smt. Mogubai Kurdikar, who learned directly from the late Sangeet Samrat Ustad Alladiya Khan, founder of the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. Son of the eminent Marathi stage actor and producer Prabhakar Panshikar, Raghunandan's Gayaki now emerging as a perfect blending of various styles of different gharanas and today his name is recognized as a talented and matured artiste of current generation.

In addition to a mastery of the presentation of classical raags, Raghunandan's command of semi-classical genres (thumri, ghazal, bhajan, abhang, etc.) accounts for his versatility & singularity among Hindustani vocalists. By training with Kishori-ji in these various styles, Raghunandan developed an innate, emotive vocal quality and honed his Hindi/Urdu, Marathi, and Sanskrit diction. Raghunandan's presentation of ghazal compositions have enthralled music aficionados.

Pursuing as a classical vocalist, Raghunandan has successfully achieved name and fame as a music composer in various musical aspects such as Marathi stage drama- 'Avgha Rang Ekchi Zala' written by Dr.Meena Nerurkar and classical fusion album 'Morey Sawariya'. Conferred with several prestigious awards, Raghunandan made his mark in playback singing also when he sang for the Hindi film by Govind Nihalani, ‘Drishti’.

Niranjan Lele has gained as a fine Harmonium Player at an early age, being the disciple of the renowned harmonium maestro Pandit Tulsidas Borkar. "Sangeet Visharad (Bachelor’s degree in music)" from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, trained in the North Indian (Hindustani) Classical Music Tradition, He has accompanied several musicians in India & abroad. Despite having a sound academic background in Science and Computer Programming, Niranjan has chosen his carrier in music.

Bharat Kamat is one of India’s leading tabla artists who has been well received not only by discerning audiences but also by the lay listener. At the tender age of five, Bharat started learning tabla from his father Pt.Chandrakant Kamat who himself has been a devoted disciple of Pt.Samata Prasad of the Benaras gharana.Bharat began his career with Pt.Jitendra Abhisheki in 1987. To name a few, he has accompanied eminent musicians like Pt.Mallikarjun Mansur, Vi.Kishori Amonkar, Smt. Malini Rajurkar, Pt.Jasraj, Smt. Shobha Gurtu, Smt. Girijadevi, Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar,  Pt.V.G.Jog, Smt. Padma Talwalkar, Dr.Ashwini Bhide, & Smt. Arati Anklikar.



The mission of the Foundation for Excellence (www.ffe.org) is to transform the lives of academically brilliant and economically underprivileged students in India.


It supports them through undergraduate studies in fields of engineering, technology and medicine. On completing their education these scholars, mostly first time graduates in their family, find well paying employment, help educate their siblings and uplift their parents from the cycle of poverty into India’s growing middle class.
